Opticks

A New York City native, Opticks started taking photographs at age 13 when she took up film photography in school. She spent her free time in the darkroom, developing the photographs she had taken around the city — particularly drawn to imagery of the streets and stores along them.

Concrete Voids is the project cataloguing Opticks' five years from 2015 to 2019 as she travelled around the globe taking photographs in cities such as Budapest, St. Petersburg, Doha, Kyoto, Hangzhou, Seoul, Cape Town, Panama City, and of course her hometown, New York City.
